The One With Early Finishers: Monday Made It

I can't believe it is already time for another Monday Made It.  Summer is flying by and that little fact hit me hard this past week.  I need to get it in gear if I'm going to accomplish all the things I want to accomplish.  My husband and I are going on vacation with his parents and siblings the week before school starts so I have to have everything ready a week early.  I refuse to spend my vacation thinking too much about school.

Here are a few things I accomplish this past week.

I MADE it through the first week of a two week workshop on robotics.  Over the course of the week I MADE my very own Wall-E and learned how to program him.  The second week of the workshop involves programming Wall-E to complete a course.  I'm a little nervous about that.  Hopefully it goes well.

One of my big goals for the summer is to create some activities for early finishers.  Think file folder games.  I was excited to find a great little activity by Teresa called Pick and Flip.  I was even more excited to discover that it was FREE.  Yay!  I made hers and then made a few of my own.  I think this is something that I will continue to make throughout the school year as my students are introduced to new concepts.

I printed prime #s, composite #s, add up to 15, add up to 21, multiples of 7,  and multiples of 9 from Teresa.  I added multiples of 6, multiples of 8, and multiples of 12 myself.

I printed them on cardstock.

Cut them out.

Folded them in half.

And laminated them.

Voila!

Students put clothespins on the appropriate squares and then flip the card to check their answers.

You can find my three additions for FREE in my TPT store.

The One With Organization Prep: Monday Made It

It's Monday.  That pretty much means I won't get anything accomplished because I will spend my day looking at all the amazing things you guys created.  Anyone else suffer from that?

I seem to have several projects started and only a few that are complete.  I'm bad about that during the summer.  I find too many amazing ideas from you guys and on Pinterest.  My mind goes into overload.

Here are some of the projects I've finished.

I create a "teacher's manual" for each of our units.  Here are a few of the binder covers I made for each of our 5th grade units.

If I can figure out how to make them where you can edit them I plan to put them in my TPT store.  If you use Investigations then they are perfect for you.

My chalkboard calendar has been a hit which is pleasantly surprising.  I decided to make a different look to offer.  I'm hoping to get a couple more themes out there as well.  Any suggestions/requests?

I've also created a cover for my new teacher binder.  This binder keeps me organized throughout the year.  Keep a look out for details about what goes inside my binder.

Sorry for the weird glare that makes it look stained.

And just because I love them here is a big reason I can't get much done.  My furbabies have been incredibly clingy lately.

The One with the Theme

It's official.

The owls are no longer in my classroom - well most of them are gone.  I had to keep a few favorites.

The new theme has been decided.

I had originally thought I wanted to do a sports theme, but soon realized that it really isn't me.  I felt very constricted with that theme.

I like color and lots of it.

I have decided to do chalkboard and neon decor.  I have completely jumped on the chalkboard bandwagon.  I love all things chalkboard.

I am pumped about this theme.  I cannot wait until I can get back in my classroom and start transforming it.

I thought I would share some of my favorite pins that are inspiring this theme.

Do you have a new theme for the upcoming school year?

The One in June

I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IS JUNE!

That's just crazy.  This week is my last week of school for the year.  I'm not going to lie.  I'm more than ready for summer vacation.  Of course one of the main reasons is so that I'll have time to work on things for next year.  Ha!
