Monday Made It - Organization

Well I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed with everything that is still left on my to do list.

I am quickly running out of weeks.

I need to get myself organized and prioritized.

Speaking of being Monday Made-It Projects this week are all about helping me stay organized throughout the school year.

I have two projects to share this week but one of them was probably the biggest thing on my to do list for the summer.

I am so excited to have (almost) all my task cards organized.  I still have a few that are too large for my current container.  I plan to buy a container for those the next time I'm in town.

But here are my task cards...all organized.

Y'all this seriously makes my heart go pitter patter.

This past year they were all just thrown onto the bottom of a bookshelf.  They were constantly falling off and I could never find what I wanted.

I'm going to need another one of these containers because I have a few more categories left.

The containers are from Michaels by the way.  And be sure to them you are a teacher.  You get a discount.  (Happy Happy!)

To be honest I'm not sure how much this next project will get used next year but it has been in my classroom and has been a huge help for several years now so I couldn't not do it.

My daily paper drawers got a make over to match my new theme.

I had originally planned to replace the labels but I decided I liked the way they looked with the new color.

The reason I'm thinking they might not get used too much is because I'm going to attempt a Math Workshop style classroom and I'm just not sure these will be big enough for all my papers and stuff each day.

But I'll give it a try. ;)

So those are my two projects for the week.

Jump on over to Tara's blog to see lots more great project ideas.

  1. Love the organization! Super cute! I can't get into my classroom until late August, and as a first year teacher I feel at a loss of what I really need to get started on! Any ideas?

Also, where did you buy these organizing drawers? Anytime I try and find them they seem to be pretty pricey.

    1. Thank you. I got my organizing drawers from Wal-Mart. I've had them for awhile, but I'm thinking they were around $12.

Congratulations on your first teaching position. So exciting and scary all at the same time. :) Do you have your curriculum or can you view it online? If you can start there. What grade will you be teaching?

  2. Hello-

I love how you have organized your task cards! I just have a question about the containers. Is it one big container and then smaller containers that fit inside? Is it marked as a photo box? Just wondering what kind of box to look for. Thanks!

    1. Thank you. Yes it is one big container filled with smaller containers. I believe it was marked as a photo box. You can also get with clear small containers inside instead of the colored ones.

  3. I know its late, but Micheal's has the containers on sale 40% with an addtional 30%(with coupon). The sale is only for today, but maybe you can order them online. I bought two! :)

  4. I'm working on getting organized this summer as well!!! Your task cards look great!!!

  5. I have been eyeing the containers from Michaels for my flash cards. I love how you organized yours!

  6. I love the organizational idea for the task cards. This might really help me organize my center. In my Monday Made It, I used my large rolling cart to organize all my center work, but those bins for the task cards will be better to hold my I Have, Who Has Cards, or flashcards that I use with my students! That is such a great idea!

    Thanks so much!

  7. Love how you have organized the task cards. Those boxes from Michael's can be used for a great number of things to help keep educators sane!

  8. Organization makes me happy....but I am not always I have those same task card cases...locked in my classroom:/ Can't wait to get in there and get my act together! Thank you for linking up:)

  9. Your sets of drawers are very cute. This is fantastic when a sub comes in. Thanks for sharing.
