The One Where I Return

Only a few more hours left of Christmas break.

I return to school tomorrow.

There are years where I miss my students and can't wait to get back.

I have to say this isn't one of them.

I know that sounds horrible.

I enjoy my job, but I have been LOVING the break.

Sleeping in every day.  Staying in my PJs all day if I want.  Time with family & friends.

It's been a blast.

But I must return to reality tomorrow.

Made harder by the fact that it is going to be 5 degrees tomorrow morning, extremely windy, and I have car duty.

YUCK!

I made new seating charts before I left.  The desks are labeled so students will know where to sit.

The board is labeled with the date and the agenda.

Papers are copied and ready to go.

I know that 5AM alarm isn't going to be fun.

But I suspect a good day is ahead.

Even though I'd rather sleep in and stay in my PJs all day.

The One On Christmas Break

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas break.  I'm guessing mine can only get better.

We had a blizzard on Christmas night.  Here in Arkansas, that means 6-12 inches of snow. HA!

I was without power for two days.  Not fun!

I have a few goals for the break.

The week before Christmas, I inherited around 200 books.  YIPPEE!!  I need to get them entered into my classroom library and covered with contact paper - Basically get them student ready.

I want to work on lesson plans and get at least a month all planned out.

There is a stack of applications that need to be filled out and sent off to principals.   Speaking of that - thank you all so much for the advice and words of encouragement.

I find myself missing my students.  Do you?  They make me laugh on a daily basis.  7th graders are hilarious!  It's been very quiet here home alone with no electricity.

I also miss my coworkers.  They are truly my friends.
