The One With the New Theme

I know it's only February, but I'm already starting to think about next year.

Don't hate me.  

It's just that I always get bored with my classroom decor around this time and I start to think about what I want to add or change for the next year.  

For the past two years my room has been decorated with owls.  It started with just a few owls and then exploded.  Now they are everywhere.  I had really planned on doing something different this year but since I was changing schools and getting a new group of students I decided to keep the owls.  I already had all of them and they would be new to group of students.

But next year I want to do something different.  I want to pack all the owls up and put them away.  At least for the year.

A few months ago I was searching the internet for something and came across a video of a 6th grade math teacher.  She was amazing and so inspiring.  I wish that I had saved that video or could at least remember what I was searching for that day.

In the video she talked about creating a sense of community and team among her students.  They were all in it together.  

I LOVED IT!

It made me want to do a sports theme in my classroom next year.

I immediately begin searching Pinterest and found some really cute decorating tips.

There are a ton of really cute ideas out there.  I don't go with the sports theme I will probably choose two or three colors and go with that.
